We will be screening The Man who Shot Liberty Valance, a classic western starring Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne, and directed by John Ford. The film explores the transformation of the harsh frontier world through the advancement of the rule of law and reflects on the means by which the change occurs and the virtues that are gained and lost in the process. Government graduate students Laura Field and Mark Verbitsky will lead a discussion of some of these themes after the viewing.

Pizza and soft drinks will be served at 7 pm; please RSVP to Carly Chrisco at cchrisco@austin.utexas.edu by 4 pm Wednesday if you would like pizza.

Also, thank you very much to those of you who attended our last event--it was great to see so many interested people there.
